Curriculum:
The following classes are offered in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Ballet: Classical training in Vagnova and Checcetti methods. A technique class for the fundamentals of dance. Emphasizes poise, strength, posture, and turnout. Class consists of barre, center, adagio and allegro. This class is essential for the serious dancer.
Pointe: Classical ballet technique taught on pointe for advanced students. Placement by teacher recommendation only.
Lyrical: Expression and interpretation of contemporary music lyrics with the emphasis on ballet and modern technique. Works on controlled movements, flexibility and strength. Ballet training is required for this class.
Modern: A style of theatrical dance that rejects the limitations of classical ballet and favors movement deriving from the epression of inner feeling.
Jazz: Technique, body placement, and flexibility set the basics for this class. Students are taught turns, leaps, jumps and kicks. Various combinations to pop and broadway music.
Hip-Hop: Street style dance with Jazz technique incorporated. Fun and funky! These classes don't require any previous dance training.
Tap: The rhythm of foot work. Training the feet for speed, clarity and precision.
